Have you been to our library? There is nothing better than the smell of books and the homey atmosphere of a library. The thousands of books in the shelves tempt every visitor to browse and rummage and quite often forget about time and troubles. Not only do we have one of the most comprehensive libraries covering every aspect of Namibia; be it the vegetation, animal life, history or tons of information about the different cultures and people; a digital, extensive picture and map collection can also be viewed. The books and magazines are recorded on the ABC Database and are classified according to the Dewey Decimal Classification System. It is thus no hassle for anyone of our librarians to find exactly the information you are looking for. The Namibia Scientific Society has implemented databases to allow for advanced search of books, documents and photos. Link to our search engines: For books and documents: abcd.namscience.org  For photos: greenstone.namscience.org  In order to digitalize all our treasures we have, thanks to the generous support of the Museums Association of Namibia, acquired a book scanner and a Dias scanner in 2014. These allow any visitor to digitalize information. Contact our library when you think of scanning your slides and photos for digital data storage – our colleagues in the library will assist you on appointment - cost per slide N$ 3.00. Members price N$ 2.50 per slide.
